When players finally hit the maximum level in Final Fantasy XIV, they’re in store for a gripping revelation: Now that the level grind is over, it’s time to start grinding gil. You’ll need large amounts of gil to outfit your character with the best weapons, equipment and items in FFIXV if you want to have a chance at defeating some of the game’s hardest content. These three tips will show you how to grind large amounts of gil in such a short amount of time that you’ll still have time left on your monthly FF IXV time card for other activities.

  1. Materia V

Materia V is one of the most sought-after items in the game, and for good reason: These small gems can substantially increase your health points, strength, and other statistics when slotted into your equipment. Most players are content to pay big bucks for these gems on the auction house, if only because they don’t know where to find these gems. All you need to do is take a small trip to the land of the Diadem, start farming Diadem Tokens via exploring and completing missions and then trade those tokens for shiny Materia V gems. Play the auction house right and you’ll be swimming in gil in no time at all.

  1. Duty Roulette

If you’re looking for a more action-packed way to farm gil and you happen to be a tank or healer archetype, then try your hand at Duty Roulette. Duty Roulette awards bonuses to classes that are in demand when it comes to dungeons, and as luck would have it, healers and tanks are almost always needed. Completing Duty Roulette for these two classes can result in upwards of 60,000 gil every few hours just for finishing a few dungeons.

  1. Dungeon Running

If you’re a damage-based class or just want to run a variety of dungeons without the game placing you into one automatically, regular dungeon running is still an incredibly viable way to make gil quickly. In addition to completing daily quests, dungeons also offer a wide array of loot that can either be sold to vendors or sold on the auction house. After learning the ins and outs of each dungeon, you can quickly complete most of them in under 30 minutes. Try to focus on newer, more difficult dungeons, like The Antitower, to maximize your gil to time ratio.
