If you’re looking for a unique activity to do in Kuala Lumpur, it’s highly recommended that you pay the KL Bird Park a visit. The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is just a few minutes’ drive away from the city center. The expansive 21-hectare park is home to more than 3,000 birds that belong to about 200 different species.
In this quick KL Bird Park review, we’ll show you why the park is not to be missed. First of all, you get the chance to watch colourful and melodic birds in a natural and beautifully landscaped habitat. The park follows a free-flight concept which means that the birds within the premises are free to roam around and in fact, many of them breed naturally in the park. They have adapted to the new environment so well that even scientists visit the park to study and research aviary behaviour.
The park is divided into 4 main sections. Within the first two, birds can fly freely under a large canopy. The third section is dedicated to the native hornbill. For a truly unique experience, you can have lunch on the veranda at the Hornbill Restaurant & Café where birds can land right at your table. The final section you can explore the World of Parrots and the Waterfall Aviary. To make the most of your time, it’s advisable to study the KL Bird Park map before starting your visit.
The Bird Park KL opening hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm every day. Do visit the park as early as possible to ensure you have enough time to see all the areas available. The park is also open during public and school holidays.
The KL Bird Park entrance fee is RM67 for adults and RM45 for children. As long as you pay for the admission fee, there’s no limit on how long you can roam the premises.
